An Azeri NGO with HQ in London is looking for a well connected Public Affairs professional to head their French office. We are looking for a Lobbyist to promote cultural and trade interests of Azerbaijan in France. The person would need to be bilingual in English and French and would have some connection within the French ruling circles.

Main duties of the Head of Office

• Strengthening Azerbaijan’s visibility among French stakeholders, at a cultural, business and political level;
• Enhancing the existing network of contacts with the French institutions, notably the Assembly, the Senate, the Ministries, the media and NGOs;
• Building on the existent strategy for the company’s French office in coordination with other European offices;
• Developing an overall business plan (long-term strategy, objectives, action plans, budgets, etc.) in line with requirements and company policy;
• Ensuring effective use of resources to achieve the objectives defined;
• Representing the company internally and externally as required;
• Providing reports and advice to company senior management on questions of policy and strategy with regard to firm’s relations with French institutions;

The ideal candidate will have
• At least 8 years’ relevant work experience;
• An excellent knowledge of French public affairs;
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of the structure and political functions of major French political organisations;
• Political judgment based on experience with the policy-making process in France;
• A thorough understanding of the geopolitics in the South Caucasus;
• Experience working in the South Caucasus, ideally in Azerbaijan;
• Be an experienced networker and have outstanding public relations skills;
• Experience of working in an international organisation and/or diplomatic mission with co-workers from different backgrounds and cultures;
• Highly developed communication skills, and the ability to represent the company vis-à-vis all relevant target groups;
• Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing with a wide range of staff;
• Proven experience of managing a team of highly skilled professionals, including staff motivation and development, and co-ordination of work and information flow;
• A structured approach to project management;
• Ability to interact with senior management team and other teams from different backgrounds

Language Skills:
Perfect fluency in French (native level), full command of English (written as well as spoken). Knowledge of Russian and/or Azeri and/or Turkish would be an asset, but not essential
